What is Daytime Dining?

Joe Simone has coined a new concept, Daytime Dining, where breakfast and lunch are given the same attention as a dinner at a high-end restaurant. Simone opened his first Daytime Dining restaurant, The Sunnyside, on the waterfront in Warren, RI, providing a casual fine dining experience during the day.

"I'm taking dinner sensibilities and apply them to breakfast and lunch," said Simone. "We use linens, silverware, nice glasses, and we have a full bar. As far as I know, we're the only restaurant in the area serving wood-grilled food at breakfast." While there's the traditional items such as eggs Benedict, Simone does his own take on them by serving them with wood-grilled ham, and for the more adventurous diner, there's another version with the poached eggs served on Jonah crabcakes topped with lemony hollandaise sauce.
